Below is a list of application forms you may or may not need during the progress of your project. We have tried to make all of our forms available in Microsoft word and PDF format.
Forms
Your warrant will have been assessed under one of 2 building acts. Either the Building (Scotland) Act 1959 or the Building (Scotland) Act 2003. If your application for building warrant was submitted to us before 1st May 2005 then it will have been assessed under the 1959 Act. All applications received after this date are assessed under the 2003 Act.

Compliance Certificate for Electrical installation (1959 Act) - Word |(31KB) PDF| (59KB)
Electrical Compliance Certificate under the 2003 Act is provided by the on-site electrician. Any electrical work carried out during building works will require certification. Please note we can only accept certificates from SELECT| or NICEIC| approved electricians.

Please write to us if you require a Building Warrant Extension under the 1959 act. On the letter please tell us the address of works, building warrant number, current state of works and expected completion date. We will then contact you for further information or to arrange an inspection.

Building Warrant Fees
There is a fee calculator and table available from the Scottish Association of Building Standards Managers (SABSM) website| Simply enter the value of works and it will calculate your fee.
In certain circumstances discounts may be available on the warrant fee. Please see questions 6 and 27 of Building Standards Division's FAQ Guide| (pdf 145KB) for information on how to obtain a discount.
