Business Rates Account Enquiries
We bill and collect Business rates for all commercial properties within North Ayrshire. Unlike Council Tax, any water or waste water charges for commercial properties are billed direct by Scottish Water Business Stream.
The amount payable in Business Rates is based on the Rateable Value of the property in question. The Rateable Value is assessed by the Ayrshire Valuation Joint Board which is independent from North Ayrshire Council.

There are various Business Rate Relief schemes available. To request an application form or to find out if you would qualify please contact us on the methods below.
Enquiries
Please contact us if you have any queries regarding your Business Rates bill or the amount payable. We offer various methods of payment (Word, 24Kb) for Business Rates. The preferred method of payment is by direct debit (Word, 550Kb) Payments are deducted on the 7th of each month. Please click on the link to download a direct debit mandate (PDF, 35Kb).
Arrears
If are having difficulty paying your Business Rates please contact us as soon as possible. If you fall into
arrears (Word, 21Kb) you will be issued with recovery documents and your account could be passed to the Sheriff Officers for collection.
Changes of Premises
If at some point in the year you purchase, sell, lease or just move premises it is important that you let us know. We need to update our records so that a revised rates bill can be issued as soon as possible. You can download the following forms if you are buying or selling a commercial property.
